Pina Colada Recipe!

Hey hey! Happy Tuesday! We are so excited to share the best recipe for everyone’s favorite beach drink.. Pina Coladas!!! Living in the beautiful Panama City Beach has allowed us to try plenty of Pina Coladas, but the recipe we are sharing with you today will be hard to beat!

Before we get into the recipe… did you know Pina Coladas have a pretty interesting history? They really do! Two bartenders claim to be the inventor of the Pina Colada. One being Ramon Mingot of the Barrachina who claims to have invented the drink in 1963, and the other being Ramon Marrero of the Caribe Hilton who claims to have invented the drink in 1954! No one truly knows who invented the drink. All we know is thank goodness they did!!

Okay, okay, now for the fun stuff! First things first, ingredients! You’ll need:

  • 6 oz bacardi rum
  • 8 oz cream of coconut
  • 8 oz pineapple juice
  • Ice
  • 1 pineapple wedge

Now it’s time to blend! First, blend the rum, cream of coconut, and pineapple juice on low so all the ingredients are mixed! Next, fill your blender the rest of the way with ice, and bump the speed up to high. Blend until the ice is grainy. Add the pineapple wedge for a garnish, and if you’re up for it, top it off with your favorite rum floater (for an even sweeter treat we suggest malibu or malibu pineapple)!

That’s it! Enjoy it alone, share it with friends, or our personal favorite way to enjoy this drink is by having one while staying with us at The Pineapple Doors. The beach, a fun place to stay, and a Pina Colada? It just doesn’t get better than that!

We hope you enjoyed this recipe, and come vacation at The Pineapple Doors soon! Cheers!
